Putting It All In Context
Most of us have attended a Yoga class and left feeling much better than when we arrived. This is usually what keeps us coming back! But have you ever wondered why moving and breathing in this way makes us feel good?
Putting It All In Context is a 20-hr, self-paced course that explores the history of Yoga, its anatomies, and the most revered texts to explain why Yoga changes our state and, ultimately, our lives. Understanding the context of what we do is like unlocking the secret to why it works so well. It's not just about following a recipe; it's about understanding why we put those particular ingredients together in that specific way so that they taste good. Similarly, understanding the context of Yoga can unlock its true potential and make it even more beneficial for you.
Each approximately two-hour session includes opening and closing practices designed to help you integrate the ideas so they are not dry, academic, or purely intellectual. Imagine sitting around with close friends and having a deep conversation about topics that mean the most to you - that's the level of engagement you can expect from this course.
A NOTE TO YOGA TEACHER TRAINERS: Putting It All In Context fulfills the Yoga Alliance 200-hr training requirements for Yoga philosophy. Purchasing this course at the YTT rate allows you to share the content with your trainees. It is offered on the honour system - we appreciate your honesty about how you plan to use this course. As a bonus, Atha Yoga founder Robyn Love will join your training live for a one-hour discussion when you purchase the YTT plan. See payment plans for details.
